1. History of the Tax Administration, MOF

The Taxation Administration was established in May 1950. It was combined with three Ministry of Finance agencies and was charged with the tax administration for the whole country. The history of the Taxation Administration provides not only an understanding of its organization and functions, it offers an in-depth chronicle of the important tax reforms implemented by the various Directors-general over the past 70 years.

2. Major Tax Reforms

The Taxation Administration was established over 70 years, and since then, the tax system has evolved along with the political, economic, and social environment. Due to the needs of social development, the tax system was reformed many times, leaving behind a precious historical record.

3. Abolished Taxes

Taxation has changed to keep up with social and economic progress; for example, the Salt Tax, Butchery Tax, Household Tax, and Bicycle Tax have all been abolished.
